I wanted to share this article about serving in the Vietnam War written by James Webb. The article is rather long, so I will not post it in its entirety here, but I encourage you to read it. Not only is it a well written historical piece, but the sentiment that we have often skipped over the heroes of this time period rings loud and clear, and I think it’s worth contemplating. When looking back through history, we do tend to equate the “Vietnam” generation with Woodstock, college protests, and anti-war demonstrators, often forgetting the men and women who fought in the war and who were not a part of that “elite” segment of the generation. This article offers a different perspective and sheds a whole new light on a portion of a generation that is often forgotten.
