Lincoln Medal at Ford’s Theatre

Last night, I represented DC Hot Spots at the red carpet portion of the annual gala to honor the recipients of the prestigious Lincoln Medal at Ford’s Theatre here in DC. This year’s medal honorees were Dr. Condoleezza Rice, former Secretary of State under George W. Bush, and Bill Russell, arguably one of the best basketball players in NBA history. Other dignitaries and VIPs who attended and/or performed at the event included: Eric Holder, Nancy Pelosi, Heidi Blinkenstaff, Denyce Graves, Congressman John Lewis, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Eric Stonestreet, former Congressman Tom Davis, and several others. Rumors were flying that VP (Uncle) Joe Biden was in attendance, although, I cannot confirm a sighting.

Each year, Ford’s Theatre recognizes “individuals who, through their body of work, accomplishments or personal attributes, exemplify the lasting legacy, and mettle of character embodied by the most beloved President in our Nation’s history, President Abraham Lincoln.”

You can find more information about this annual event here.
Before I had to “work it” and grab some interviews on the red carpet, I snapped a few shots to showcase the event.
