Meet Me at MEAT Up Mondays

Monday nights just got a little more exciting if you love steak and lobster and live in a city with an STK Steakhouse. Now for MEAT Up Mondays, STK is offering a succulent 8oz lobster tail and 8oz Filet for only $59–and only on Mondays. All STK restaurants worldwide are participating, except for the Las Vegas restaurant, which is clearly too cool and doesn’t need nightly promotions.

I was invited in to try MEAT Up Mondays, and to experience “Vibe” dining at its best at STK. The steakhouse taunts us as “not your daddy’s steakhouse,” and that is true. However, if you are your daddy, you may want to stick with some of the more traditional spots.

STK has a nightly DJ that starts around 8 PM and plays throughout the evening. If you want a quieter dinner, it’s best to dine before 8. However, if you are feeling frisky and want the lounge-y feel of a club while you savor your surf & turf, then make your reservation for later. Keep in mind when it comes to Mondays, the MEAT UP special only applies from 5PM-9PM.

It’s not just steak that STK is known for doing well. Their tuna tartare and Japanese hamachi were both extremely flavorful and excellently prepared. The server informed me that the Japanese fish was flown in fresh and never frozen. If you’re OK with that, then you’ll enjoy the rest of that plate.

Perhaps my favorite dish in all of STK land is the mini Wagyu Burgers, or ‘LIL BRGS, as they are called on the menu. Juicy mini burgers topped with melted cheese, aioli sauce, grilled onions, and a pickle that melt in your mouth, and sometimes all over your hands. It can be messy eating at “not your daddy’s steakhouse,” but it’s a good messy.

The main event of lobsta on steak was presented with class and sides to accompany like some cauliflower broccoli combination sprinkled with parmesan cheese and truffle potato wedges. I recommend cutting up the truffle wedges into bite-size pieces and combining each with a piece of the meat.

The Filet and the lobster were both cooked to perfection, and the taste, texture, and temperature were all just right. When the music is playing, and the steak is slaying, you have a real party on Monday nights.

Oh! Don’t forget dessert! We were presented with tiny doughnuts filled with dulce de leche and accompanied with chocolate and raspberry sauce. I would have happily eaten the doughnuts without the filling inside, but hey! Some people are into that gooey thing.

If a steak and lobster combo isn’t your favorite, you can still party at STK on Mondays with their “Magnum Monday” from 9 PM until late. For this special, you can enjoy $200 Magnums of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne, $150 bottles of Belvedere, or $150 bottles of Volcan Blanco Tequila. The last two only being available if you purchase the magnum of Champagne first. Watch out, Sundays, Monday is the new Funday at STK after 9 PM. Just make sure to make arrangements to get the kids to school on time on Tuesday.

If you’re in Miami, you can make reservations by calling STK at 305-604-6988.
