4 Fantastic Bellevue Wine Bars to Visit in Washington on Winetraveler.com

Just a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to travel out to the Seattle area for a little break from the Miami heat. This wasn’t my first time visiting. I was lucky enough to be paired with a roommate during my freshman year in college who is from Tacoma, so I’ve gone out to visit her and her family several times over the years.

I’m always impressed by the Pacific Northwest. We are truly lucky, as Americans, to be able to call the Pacific Northwest part of our vast and varied country. We have the option to travel so far from home for many of us and not need a passport to be transported into a wonderland of nature. This is a special freedom that we should not take for granted.

Of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention Washington wines. Each time I’ve traveled out there, I’ve also had the opportunity to sample some of Washington’s best wines in their home state. Washington has a signature for its wines, and it’s usually big, bold, and fruit-forward reds, but also rounded classic whites. Over the years and the bottles, I’ve picked out some favorite producers like DeLille Cellars and Quilceda Creek. One of those trips, I had a blast tasting along the Columbia River Gorge at places like Cor Cellars and the female-owned AniChe Cellars.

This past visit, I had the opportunity to explore a different city that will be a part of my regular itinerary moving forward. Bellevue, Washington is a mid-sized city that sits across Lake Washington to the east of Seattle. Seemingly far from the noise of a big city, Bellevue is part tech hub and part nature trail. There are over 100 parks in the city that range from beachfront to forest, and the city itself is surrounded by two lakes. It’s truly a beautiful place to live and visit.
